What happened to the kittens? / I feel like I've been through a war. I did not get enough sleep; it started some time early this morning. Alay was doing great last night, she played on the kitchen table, and I had her out of the cage in my hands when I had Puddypie out. And on the way home, I decided to only switch on the "dome" light for a very short time so Alay would not have enough time to look up at me, as she usually does. (She positions herself in the same place in the cage, and every 2 or 3 miles when I put the light on, she looks up at me like I'm God. Many times she is looking up at me when the light is off in the dark and I cannot see her. It is neat. And there is never a whine out of her.) I do not know why I decided to discourage this, maybe things were getting too routine. (I have been taking her with me every day and I love her very very much.) And after I took her inside the trailer, I took the car cage out and worked on the bottom to make it more steady. (Every time Alay moves around the cage rocks, and it probably makes it more difficult for her to keep her balance. So I made it fairly steady.) I fell asleep (again). Then Alay started getting whiny, as usual, like for some milk after I have been sleeping for awhile. But didn't hardly want any milk. This was the beginning, she got worse and worse. It was Friday morning, she wasn't getting any better, so I decided to take her into the veterinarian as soon as I could take a shower and get dressed and loaded up. So I did, but the dodie woman gave me trouble and she was going to make me wait when she could see that there was something seriously wrong with Alay! When I had gotten Alay outside in the cage, at this point she could not move around, and when I got her there, she was worse, she was in strange body positions and did not like to be touched and was a bit whiny, and this woman was telling me that we would have to wait for the next "opening", and she would not tell me when that might be!
So I walked out. Strange: There was an attractive young woman/big girl there, and she wanted to touch Alay (I wanted to touch her!). She was asking me questions about Alay such as what is her name, and I told her. But when she touched Alay she would whine; she did not like it, and I told her so. So then I went to the veterinarian that I was going to some years ago. They were open. But there was a young "baby" woman in there behind the counter who was hardly old enough to know any thing. And there was a large black dog that a woman had in there and it was barking LOUDLY at me and the noise I could see was hurting Alay. {I hate veterinarians, they are stupid.} But they stopped the dog after a short time and the dog had made a mess on the wall in there! And I could see that they were going to make me wait and they wanted me to fill out a form. So I walked out. So I took Alay to a third veterinarian. They took Alay nearly right away. But they took her away from me into a rear room. I was walking around wondering what was going on with Alay. While I was waiting, they wanted me to fill out a form (but a short one). {I hate forms.} After awhile, the doctor came in. She has an attitude and a know-it-all manner. She was convinced that Alay had been poisoned! She said probably strychnine poisoning and she was wanting to pump Alay's stomach! And to then give her something else (charcoal). I told her that it could not be poison. She said that Alay was having a seizure, a grand mal seizure, and that she had already treated Alay by giving her an injection of a drug, Valium. I said to go ahead and do the test for feline leukemia. She said that it was okay to do the test. But I needed to go and get some more money! Because the bill was coming up to $91. More money on Alay! So I left Alay there and took off in my car to go to the house. It was getting hot! When I got to the house, Mother was stating to leave the driveway in her car! But she saw me coming in and she stopped. She said that she was very late for her hair appointment, but she came in and "paid" me all but $5. So I now have $166. And Mother and I prayed about Alay. The Lord said that Alay was probably going to die and that I should not spend any more money on her because I cannot afford to and it would not help. I asked; what should I do? The Lord said, do nothing. I returned to get Alay. The test was negative! I had decided that if so, then I would let Puddypie and Zila get as close as they wanted to with Alay. But now it might be too late because I was told that Alay might be like in a coma from being brain dead and that she "might never wake up". I asked when will the drug wear off and was told by the doctor that it would be around 2:00 or 3:00. So now I have $75. I got Alay, and she was laying there totally still, she could not move, not her eyes either. I had decided that instead of going to the house, to go home. So I went home. Then I took Alay out of the cage and put her on a paper bag on the floor. She was losing a lot of water from her open mouth, so I kept putting my "Kleenex" tissues under her head. I laid on the floor with Alay and cried for several hours. Strange thing: For a long long time, for weeks, it has been a battle trying to keep Zila away from Alay. And now Zila does not want to have anything to do with her! She spats at Alay. It was getting later in the day (after 3:00). So I decided to take Alay to the house, but first to stop in again to ask some more questions about Alay. But I could not get anywhere {with them} there, and left the phone number for the doctor to call me. Later at the house she did not call me, so I called and talked to her. I had printed a list of questions so I would not forget. One of them was again, when will the drug wear off? This time she told me: "About 40 minutes"! It was long after that! And it was after the first time that she told me, so I figured that Alay was brain dead and that she would be dying in around 3 days. At the house, I took her out of the cage and laid her on the table on her other flank and petted her and cried some more. I left her there for several hours, including when I walked away, because she could not move, so she could not fall off the table if she could not move. At one point, I was taking to her and petting her, and she slowly moved one of her rear legs! It was a bit encouraging. And later on, she had moved both her rear legs and her tail and only one eye a tiny bit, but that's all there was. I now have $80. (The other $5.) Earlier, the woman who had delivered some bags for the , was out front. I came out with my mower and was about to start mowing the lawn when I saw that she had a problem with her car, a Cadillac. It was low on oil for some unknown reason. I talked to Mother and she said okay, so I took her and that kid! Over to "Target" to get some oil. I am not feeling well at this point, having a bit of a headache which is very unusual for me. Too much crying? I came home. And in spite of Alay being "brain dead", I had her out in the cage as usual when I had Puddypie out. (She's not dead yet.) but she did move a bit. She had closed her mouth. And I saw her yawn and lick her mouth! And I was thinking; that now that Alay is "brain dead", that it is kind of ironic that I am seeing the kittens again, Alay's brothers and sisters (but there is only two of them now, the black one and the light one that is just about identical to the Siamese mother. What happened to the third one, the cute one??!!) Worked 3.0.
